Profile
Claire joined RSM Robson Rhodes in London in 1999 working from the start in the corporate recovery department and was seconded to the Manchester office in 2000. Since leaving that firm in 2001 she has done a 3 month placement in Melbourne and has worked for two London-based accountancy practices before joining Moorfields in 2009.
Claire has experience across a variety of industries in the SME sector.
Experience and skills
Claire manages a team dealing with the firm’s Law of Property Act Receivership assignments as well as dealing with Administrations and Liquidations.
Selected Projects
LPA Receiverships -
- The firm’s portfolio of LPA Receiverships includes a high number of licensed premises comprising pubs and hotels nationwide. In addition, Claire has been responsible for the successful management and sale of several investment properties, including a portfolio of 16 properties in London and the South East. The investment properties include commercial units, residential, a student residence and a nursing home.
- Claire works closely with Banking and investor contacts as well as managing and marketing agents to ensure Moorfields delivers an efficient all-round service.
Administrations -
- Drink Supply Business – the administration of this £13m annual turnover drinks distribution company included trading the business, fraud investigation, asset realisation including a substantial debtor book and a freehold property. This has involved close ongoing liaison with the secured creditors.
- Recruitment Company – the administrations of this £22m turnover recruitment and temporary staff company with two of its group companies was carried out with a pre-pack sale of the business to management. The company operated from premises nationwide and complexities of administration included the monitoring of occupation of the company’s leasehold premises by the purchaser under a licence to occupy.
- Electrical Contacting – the administration of this building contracting company involved a novation of a number of contracts to an associated company. The principal assets were the company’s building contracts, debtor book and retentions. Following realisation of a substantial level of these assets Claire has overseen a preferential distribution made to over 90 employees totalling in excess of £100k. In addition, the secured creditor has received distributions totalling in excess of £300k.
